Is your tutoring online or in person?

Currently I offer both online tutoring and in person sessions in the Macclesfield area. I can travel to you, but an additional travel cost will be applicable if the travel time is more than 30mins each way.

In my opinion, online tutoring is more effective for both tutor and pupil, as there is a host of tools available to assist in learning and it is easier to keep track of all the resources used, which can be really helpful for independent study. There is also no travel time and pupils can attend their lessons from anywhere that they have internet access.

What experience & Qualifications do you have?

I have an undergraduate degree in Archaeology from the University of Manchester and a PGCE (teacher training qualification) in Secondary History from Oxford University.

After my PGCE I taught in state secondary schools across London before moving to teach for a year at a British curriculum school in Latvia, where I taught iGCSE History.

For the past four years, I have also worked every summer as a GCSE History examiner with the exam board Edexcel, marking on the Early Elizabethan England and Weimar and Nazi Germany papers.

Do I have to commit to a tutoring session every week?

No, you can do weekly, bi-weekly, fortnightly or monthly sessions at fixed time, or book ad-hoc through my bookings page whenever tutoring is needed.

I do offer discounts on block bookings of 3 sessions or more.

Can I book for a small group of pupils to spread the cost.

Yes - small group tutoring is an option, up to a maximum group of 5. The base rate of £75 for 50 minutes still applies, with an additional £15 per extra pupil. For example a 50 minute tutoring session for a group of 3 would cost £105. This would work out at £35 per pupil.

Do you use AI for any of your lesson planning, resource creating or marking.

Never. I do not use AI in the creation of any of my products or services. This is due to the lack of accuracy in AI generated content and the importance of real human expertise in teaching and tutoring.

What is your cancellation policy?

I need 48 hours notice of a cancellation to provide a full refund. 24 hours in advance and I am happy to offer a 50% refund.

You will not be able to book again until any outstanding fees are paid.
